Clearance Information

Both Turkish and foreign flag yachts are required to obtain an authorization on their Transit Log from a harbour-master while sailing between Turkish ports. If leaving for or returning from foreign ports, Turkish and foreign flag yachts are required to complete a full clearance procedure with customs and police.

Yacht owners or captains must submit their Transit Log to the harbour-master when the cruise is completed.

Following Coastal Safety fees will be applied to the yachts cruising to/from Turkey depending on the operation of the yacht:

  • Istanbul Strait Entrance From Black Sea, lighthouse and salvage fee
  • Istanbul Strait Entrance From Marmara Sea, lighthouse and salvage fee
  • Canakkale Strait Entrance From Aegean Sea, lighthouse fee
  • Canakkale Strait Entrance From Marmara Sea, lighthouse fee
  • Seaport Entrance Fee
  • Seaport Exit Fee
  • Non-Stop over passage, lighthouse and salvage fee (applied to the vessels which navigate through the strait without calling any port.)
  • Yacht fee (applied to the vessels having a Transit Log Certificate every time she obtains it.)
  • Transit Log Fee (Sailing Permission Certificate).
  • Agency Fee

Regulations and Fees in Turkey:

Upon entry into Turkish Territorial Waters, a foreign flag yacht will be recorded in the yacht owner’s or captains’ passport by the customs authorities. This record should be cancelled by the customs authorities upon departure for foreign ports or when leaving the yacht for winter lay-up in a marina.
